I've asked him about support for the Flex and here is a paraphrase of his reply: "No way, not every, don't ask." Skookum requires native RS232 to communicate with a radio and there is no way around this. It the first PC I've owned in about 10 years so my fingers are having a bitch of a time as I've internalized scores of Mac keyboard shortcuts that don't work on the PC, or trigger actions that I'm not expecting. There may be a workaround, but personally, I'm very happy with my Win10/HP setup for contesting with the Flex. All that said, you can get RUMlogNG to read the frequency on the Flex by setting it to TS2000 and CAT, but it won't follow the VFO and changing bands is not possible. And now that the new K4 has both TCP and RS232 for communication, there is even more reason for Bill to not bother supporting radios like Flex and ANAN. For VHF contesting I still use Skookum Logger with my K3 and transverters. ![]() Did the Flex guys stick him with a giant dinner and bar bill at Dayton one year? In the end, I capitulated and bought a new HP desktop for my shack to run the Flex setup.
